i was reading a magazine yst...came across this interesting article which talks about a book that lists out all the annoying things that can happen to Singaporeans...

personally these are a few annoying things which i have encountered b4 and i'm sure most of you have too...

1) "You are walking on the busy streets of Orchard Road...in such a pretty pretty mood to shop...there comes this person from XYZ company who stops u and asks if you can help do a survey...u kindly reject him....and as u walk down the streets....'N' number of people from the same company comes up to you and asks the same qn..."

2) "You want to dial for some info on a telephone directory...but after Nth times of redirections("please press 1 to blah blah...2 to blah blah..")....u still can't seem to get the info you need...."

3) "You are out on weekends...there are so MANY ppl doing flag day that you have no choice...but to donate 20 cents..to get an "amulet" (as in the donation sticker) to prevent urself from further harrassment.."

4) "You queued for a VERY long time for the ATM machine....and but it so happens that the damn ATM machine used up its 10-dollar notes when it's ur turn...and you have no choice but to withdraw 50 dollars from your already-no-money bank account...."

5) "You get served quickly when you entered the restaurant....but subsequently...when you ask for the waiter....he seems to ignore you totally!...and when he finally comes up to u...he apologise for the inefficiency...takes your order....AND THEN forgets your order completely.."

6) "the auntie/uncle at your neighbourhood zhi cha store seems to favour guys/gers more....and treats you like some transparent-beings who came from Martian......some are worse..they favour particularly pretty ones and handsome ones...and you start to wonder whether it's a sin to look ugly...."

7) "you board a taxi.....the driver keeps blabbering non-stop....you wan to get some peace and quiet...but he doesn't seem to GET IT....worse still...he complains about politics...how he hates the goverment....etc etc....how his son refuse to heed his advice on which poly to go to...how his irritating neighbours tried to pick a fight last nite...yada....yada....yada.....it juz makes u go..."hello uncle...u THINK I CARE?"..."

8) "you are doing something critical on your PC (typing reports...programming...rebuilding your .NET projects)......then your comp completely hangs on you before you can save anithing and you press Ctrl-Alt-Delete but to no avail...

9) "you step into a boutique....and the salesperson gives u the "you can't afford it" or "it's not meant for you" look....when u ask for size for a piece of blouse...she says "if it's there....then it's there...if it's not there...then it's not there"....." (fei hua!..kns)

10) "your frens borrow things from you....and never seemed to have the intention to return them...they avoid your sms...your phone calls...and when you finally manage to contact them...they nonchalantly tell u he/she has lent YOUR stuff to someone else...."

11) "you started waiting for your bus at wee hours of the morning..but somehow or rather......u never seemed to be able to get up the bus becose it's so packed....u then witness all the packed buses drive past u..and when u finally see a double-decker bus coming.....u feel it will stop for u since it's not packed on the second-deck................BUT NO! it didn't! because CUCKOO bus drivers often ASSUMED that the bus is already packed on the upper deck since the lower deck is packed..." (p.s.: bus drivers....if you r one of those...please please please use some cow-sense)...

12) "you're packing up....had your own plans after work.....aims to leave your office at 6pm......and your very 'kind' superior walks in at 5.57pm and ask "Can we discuss on your new task?"...$%$&%^*&^#!#!!!!!!!!!!"

hur hur...well....these r some of the irritating things i've personally encountered..(i encountered MANY...dun ask me "how come?"...i have no idea...)...
